Help Me Debunk the Dissection of Obama’s Birth Certificate PDF

Dear liberal friends who are computer graphics inclined:
I am a bit of a right-winger, but I am not a Birther, so please help me debunk this. This morning, the White House released what it said was a scanned PDF file of Obama’s long-form birth certificate. However, when that PDF is opened in Adobe Illustrator, and you right-click and select “Release Clipping Mask”, a number of layers and objects are released for independent manipulation.

The conclusion many on the Internet are drawing is that this document was doctored or faked, and that they didn’t even go through the good-old, tried-and-true trick of printing out your faked document and rescanning it to get rid of the digital artifacts of manipulation.
If you have a deep understanding of the technical aspects of graphic design, Adobe PDF format, etc., please load this PDF up in Adobe Illustrator, click “Release Clipping Mask”, and help me with an explanation of how this is in fact an undoctored scan of a document from 1961.
